One of the biggest glass company bought 200pcs of filter bags from ST Filter. The Filter material was Polyester 600g /m2 as the customer nominated. But the bags were still damaged after 3 months running, same as previous filter bag supplier. So ST Filter checked carefully on the application: the dust was cutting glass dust, multiangular in microstructure. The multiangular glass dusts moving on the surface of the filter material during filtration, the abrasion of the glass dusts wash and attack the polyester signed surface. The tensile strength dropped very fast, bag had holes after 3 months running.
ST Filter introduced special material for this aggressive dust: Polyester needlefelt 550g /m2 + 50g /m2 of PTFE foam coating treatment.
Advantage:
1, Polyester 550g /m2 supply enough tensile strength for the bag material.
2, PTFE Foam coating treatment has the excellent smooth surface, the dust is not easy to stick on the PTFE surface. Furthermore, 50g /m2 of PTFE foam tightly laminated on the polyester surface by thermal shrinkage. The thickness of the PTFE foam coating is about 0.4mm (much thicker than PTFE Membrane), the easy flow and reinforce filtration surface protects the material from being attacked by the aggressive glass dusts.
3, The emission rate reduced to less than 10mg/m3 by the PTFE Foam felt.
Result:
The bags made from new material successfully working for more than one year, while price was only double than normal polyester felt, the customer saved purchase cost and maintenance cost.
The bags were broken due to the aggressive glass dust after 3 months running. The dusts enters to the clean room in the bag house.
