The burnt coal ash has to be transferred to the ash tower by air in coal power plant. There has bag house at the top of the ash tower. DaTang Power Generation CO.Ltd is one of the biggest generation Group in China. It has more than 20 power plants. ST Filter supply DaTang group the filter bags for burnt coal ash dust collector though a contractor. One of a power plant always complained for the short life of the filter bags. The broken part of the bag was near top of the cuff. The bag life was less than 6 month. The material was Polyester needlefelt + PTFE membrane treatment.

So ST Filter visited the end user by end of October, 2006, it was about 2500km far away.




The end user requested ST Filter to reinforce the cuff every time. But the broken still occurred on the same part. After carefully checked the dust collector, ST Filter found that the problem was that the blowing tube in the bag house was not properly installed(See above). The blowing tube mouths did not designed to be opposite to the bag top center for installation in vertical direction. The skew pulse jet air did not blow to the center of the aluminum venturi. After long times of running, it blew holes on venturi. So the skew air blew the part near the filter bag cuff, it cause the shorten life of the filter bag.

The end user improved the blowing tube, the new replacement bags successfully running for more than 20 month without any problem.
